Terms and Conditions for ‘GBP to INR Remittance Promotion’

(Win a £75 Voucher every day and a 1-gram Gold Coin each week)

1. The Promoter is State Bank of India (UK) Limited (SBI UK, the “Bank” or “Promoter”) (company no. 10436460) whose registered office is at 3rd Floor, Hygeia House, 66 College Road, Harrow, HA1 1BE. 

 

2. The campaign is open to UK residents who are 18 years old and above. However, employees of State Bank of India (UK) Limited or State Bank of India London Branch, their close relatives, and anyone connected with the organization or involved in judging the campaign are not eligible to enter.

3. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, unless otherwise defined, capitalised terms shall have the meaning as assigned to them below:

  • ”Branch(es)” refer(s) to the branches of SBI UK in the United Kingdom, located in the City of London, Birmingham, Coventry, East Ham, Golders Green, Harrow, Hounslow, Leicester, Manchester, Southall, and Wolverhampton.

  • “Reward” refers to a £75 voucher (Daily Prize) or a 1-gram Gold Coin (Weekly Prize).  
  • “Transaction” refers to money transfer from the UK to India (GBP to INR) using YONO SBI UK App, internet banking and Branches.

4. The campaign ‘‘GBP to INR Remittance Promotion’’, runs from Monday 4th May 2026 to Tuesday 30th June 2026 (both dates inclusive) (“Campaign Period”).

Entry into the draw is free of charge. The campaign involves qualifying Transactions either made through the Branch, SBI UK internet banking and/or via the Bank’s YONO SBI UK app. The exchange rate and transaction fees for all qualifying Transactions remain at the Bank’s standard market rate. No additional fee or inflated rate has been applied to fund this campaign or the Rewards.

5. By participating in this campaign, participants agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

6. The details of how to enter the competition are via SBI UK's website, SBI UK social media accounts namely X, Linkedln, Instagram and Facebook. 

How to Enter:

7. Participants will be automatically entered into the Daily draw (for a chance to win a £75 voucher) and/or Weekly draw (for a chance to win a 1-Gram Gold Coin) based on eligibility criteria mentioned in Section 10.1.

8. The campaign will run from Monday 4th May 2026 and will end on Tuesday 30th June 2026 (both dates inclusive).  

8.1 Daily Draw:

Eligible Transactions must be completed between 12 am to 11:59 pm for each day within the Campaign Period.

8.2 Weekly Draw:

Eligible Transactions must be completed between 12 am on the start date and 11:59 pm on the end date of each week.

For the avoidance of doubt, the week is specified as below.

  • Week 1: From 4th May 2026 to 10th May 2026
  • Week 2: From 11th May 2026 to 17th May 2026
  • Week 3: From 18th May 2026 to 24th May 2026
  • Week 4: From 25th May 2026 to 31st May 2026
  • Week 5: From 1st June 2026 to 7th June 2026
  • Week 6: From 8th June 2026 to 14th June 2026
  • Week 7: From 15th June 2026 to 21st June 2026
  • Week 8: From 22nd June 2026 to 28th June 2026

9. All times involved are local, UK time. Transactions submitted outside the required period will not be considered.

Entering the Competition:

10.1 To eligible to enter the draw, a Transaction must:

    1. Be completed within the Campaign Period.
    2. Be a transfers made in GBP (Pound Sterling) currency to INR (Indian rupees) only.
    3. Total Transfers of £1,000 or over a day (one or more transactions) as per section 8.1 will be eligible to enter in a draw for voucher worth £75 each Day.
    4. Total Transfers of £2,000 or over in week (one or more transactions) as per section 8.2, through one or more transactions, you will be eligible to enter a weekly draw to win a 1-Gram Gold Coin.
    5. Eligible transfers can be made either via YONO SBI UK App, internet banking or in person at any of SBI UK Branch.

11. Each customer will be eligible for only one Reward during the Campaign Period. If a customer win a reward in week 1, they will not be eligible for any further rewards during the campaign, even if they complete further eligible transactions.

12. The customer will be automatically eligible for campaign if they are transferring money from the UK to India who meet the criteria.

Winners and Prizes:

13. Winners will be contacted by the SBI UK staff member through the contact details held under the account. .

14. If a winner is not contactable within 14 working days of first time of initial notification, the Bank reserves the right to pick a replacement winner. This replacement winner will be selected from the same original batch of entries from which the original winner was selected and will be selected by the same method.

15. The Bank reserves the right to modify the T&Cs as and when deemed necessary.

16. The decision of the Bank will be final.

 

Other terms:

17. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the draw and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God, or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to our social media accounts and website as soon as possible.

18. One Reward per person will be allocated.

19. The Reward is as stated; no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The Rewards are not transferable.

20. One winner will be chosen by a panel of judges selected by SBIUK each day and week through randomiser tool.

21. The winner will be notified within fourteen (14) working days of the draw. The winner must visit their nearest branch to claim the Reward.

22. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

23. Any personal data relating to the winner, or any other entrants will be used solely per current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.

Important Notice

The Bank of England will be withdrawing legal tender for £50 and £20 paper banknotes as of Friday 30th September 2022 and you will only be able to use the polymer banknotes thereafter. Fraud Alert - WhatsApp Smishing Scam

The National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) is warning the public about the continued increase in reports about scams where victims are targeted on WhatsApp by criminals pretending to be someone they know – typically their children.

Criminals will usually begin the conversation with “Hello Mum” or “Hello Dad” and will say that they are texting from a new mobile number as their phone was lost or damaged. They will then ask for money to purchase a new one or claim that they need money urgently to pay a bill.

The criminal will provide bank details for the payment to be made to, with some coming back with further demands for money.

Between 3rd February 2022 and 21st June 2022, there have been a total of 1235 reports made to Action Fraud linked to this scam, with total reported losses exceeding £1.5mn.

What you need to do

  • STOP. THINK. CALL. If a family member or friend makes an unusual request on WhatsApp, always call the person to confirm their identity.
  • You can report spam messages or block a sender within WhatsApp. Press and hold on the message bubble, select 'Report' and then follow the instructions.
  • Never share your account's activation code (that's the 6 digit code you receive via SMS)
